Another excellent song from Gene! As I said in an earlier post, outside of The Byrds, I've been totally ignorant of his music. No more! Maybe I can learn a few of Gene's tunes and play them for others to enjoy...

@GeorgieWise It's too late for me but I do appreciate old country more than new (almost nothing new I like). But this is just a gorgeous song that is not like most country. RIP Gene .. I feel a whole lot worse since you've been gone.

This performance is outstanding. I am glad the house band was sympathetic. The steel guitar and mandolin playing is stellar. But the star of the show is Gene (and Carla). According to Carla, Gene was real ill when this was shot.

Seek out everything this man recorded either solo, with the Byrds or the Dillard and Clark albums. He was a true genius and such a wonderful songwriter, saw him play in London many years ago now, totally brilliant. Sadly Gene dies far too young.

Gene Clark is forever!

I don't think this man had a single bad song in him.

Ironic, isn't it? During their heyday, and for long afterwords, the most 'known' Byrds were McGuin and Crosby. As the years continue to pass, Chris Hillman and Gene Clark are finally being seen as the 2 most talented to emerge from that awesome combination of players.
