Budgies Moulting (Losing Feathers)

My pet budgies Jibijip and Jijik were moulting at one point, this is a video of their feathers.

Sadly Jibijip died and was buried on Tuesday the 17th of June, 2008. He died of a problem in his digestive tract. That's why I collected the feathers that fell out when he was moulting because I knew one day he would die, but I didn't expect it to be so soon, I had only had him for 6 months.

I keep the feathers of my budgies that fall out on their own when they're molting as a reminder of my budgies, I'll still have some of their feathers after they have died and have been burried. Their feathers that is, and nothing else. I know it sounds weird, but I just keep their feathers in a bag somewhere and never even touch their feathers that fell off on their own when they were molting or even look at the feathers. I remember seeing a movie where some woman cut a lock of her hair and gave the lock of hair to her husband who was going far away, I don't think they ever saw each other after that. I can't remember the name of the movie or anything else about the movie because I saw it so long ago, when I was a child.

That's so bizarre....I keep their feathers too....One of mine got killed by a cat and all I have left is one single, long tail feather. It's like his embodiment or something...It has all the colors he had...Speaking of budgies, I have a problem to go deal with (the girls are fighting :P)

I think it's so sweet that you keep the feathers of the birds. It's like a little reminder of their life. I'm new to the budgie owner world, but I find that mine is one of the best pets I've ever had. When abouts do they go through their big molt?
