  • This is a good way to teach. Forget the tired old pedantic rules. Start with examples of good writing. That is the end in view. Then analyze them.

    In the 1800s, Robert Louis Stevenson argued that prose should not mimic poetry. Prose is harder to write, he said. It's infinitely varied, unlike the structure of sonnet.
