You shouldn't shoot a female from that angle, always shoot downwards.

@kerrycgarrison though ill-advised I'm doing my own engagement photo and realized that I need to use an umbrella to get better lighting, Why use shoot-through vs. bounce off? I'm new using lights/flashes PERIOD since I'm used to shooting landscape and animals not people

What settings were used on camera and in flash?
Also there was a reflector reflection in the second image, how do you avoid that?
-
Nice video. Thank you.

@YauMannn Looks to me he was shooting straight on. Shouldn't be a problem. Yes shooting slightly down would be better, but straight on is fine.

That flash is always on?, seem like a lamp, how you did that?

Beats having to buy a $300 flash.
What is the size your your umbrella here?

@DeathStar012 I think that was a 32"

How about distance from the umbrella to the flash?
zuantuba 3 months ago
@zuantuba I usually try to have the flash at the very far end of the umbrella shaft with the zoom set to 24mm in order to get the widest coverage inside the umbrella
