Video of the Moon through a Meade ETX-90 telescope. I was holding the camera by hand.
Eyepiece: 26mm
Camera: Traveller DV5000 (bought in ALDI)

Note that the image is horizontally mirrored because of the optics.

  • What do galaxies and nebulae look like through this thing?

  • If you mean the camera, I haven't tried that.

If you mean the telescope, then they look less colourful than what you see on photos. But they still look fantastic when I am away from light polluted areas.

  • wot camera did u use and did u use a camera mount? nice pics:)

  • I used a cheap flipcam-like camera. I was holding it by hand behind the eyepiece of the telescope.

  • Nice and steady hand

  • Thanks :)

I have to work on a fixed setup similar to yours. I'm still wondering though if I should play with webcams or just go for a HD video camera that have become quite affordable now.

  • hey i have an ETX-90AT meade telescope and a 26mm eyepeice, is that enough for me to view the moon or plannets? How do i connect my telescope with my laptop? I alsop have a fujifilm finepix 1900 digital compact camera, how do i connect that with my telescope?

  • hey i have the same telescope, but i cannot see any plannets or stuff, is that because i have the setup wrong or becuase im using a 26mm eyepeice when im supposed 2 use a greater lens? what camera did u use?

  • I took a photo of day 13, it's on the wall framed, there is something special about the moon then, mind you any day you see it is awesome :)
