One of the hottest movies of the summer is helping us raise money to save the planet.

This week, the Alliance for Climate Protection went to Hollywood to attend the red-carpet premiere of Inception, a new film starring Leonardo DiCaprio. All proceeds from the premiere went to the Alliance, which will help fund our efforts to solve the climate crisis.

The stars of Inception had some great things to say about our cause from the Red Carpet.

Former Vice President Al Gore, Chairman of the Alliance, spoke to attendees about the impacts of the climate crisis and the Gulf oil disaster, and the need to end our reliance on fossil fuels. Also in attendance was Alliance President and CEO Maggie L. Fox. The stars and screening attendees even had a chance to see some of Repower America's ads.

Following the premiere, Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer and guitarist Johnny Marr (The Smiths, Modest Mouse, The Cribs) performed a special concert backed by a 20-piece orchestra.

Now in theaters, Inception is directed by Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight) and tells the story of a modern-era corporate thief with the power to enter the dreams of others. In our video, Composer Hans Zimmer had this to say about it: "One of the things about this movie is really that one idea can change the world."

  • I'm disappointed but not surprised to see hollywood actors haven't got a clue about life.

  • Every generation thinks the world is going to end on their watch. It must be hard to recruit members into the 'Global Warming Cult' after the high priests were caught fabrication their data. So, I guess the plan is to recruit to a high school drop out, living in liberal Hollyweird that can be easily brainwashed into believing anything. Next, Leo will probably join Scientology. ;) Ha!

  • of course they have to agree with warner bros; they employed them

  • My children all have asthma. We live right next to the Valero Refinery's smoke stacks in the port of Los Angeles.

  • @boamuro i dont think its anything to do with haarp, i think its more likly to do with the solar alignment that will happen in 2012, i agree though its certainly not due to human carbon emissions. and all the brainwashed morons will spout the same old crap like "its real and threatening everyone" but hey, what can you do about that

  • Climate change? You're going to get facts from a politician - Al Gore? It's more like H.A.A.R.P and spraying chemtrails in the skies. *sigh*

  • You may not like celebrities, Hollywood, or even films, but climate change is real and threatening -- leave your feelings toward celebs and money out of your reaction and learn about the real threat to everything on Earth from climate change.

  • @cano21 I saw a presentation of some professor, and he said if someone want to create a problem no-one would care for it would look the same as global warming.

So, this claim of yours is ridicules, because if they wanted to create a problem to earn more tax money it wouldn't be global warming. Because no-one gives a shit about future problems and preventing stuff.

  • @cypress1337 Do what exactly? Oh, "save the world?" What arrogance. Yes, I'm sure if anyone can save us from a made up "climate crisis," it's Hollywood. They've done so much for us already. (sigh)

  • @no1froggy

I would agree with and say anything that puts money in my bank account too.
