if you want to add weight to this heli, slip a paper clip onto the two front legs, it work great.

Anyone find any mods to increase flight time besides shedding some weight on the thing? Maybe a different battery pack that weighs the same but holds a bigger charge?

oh sory kinda was in a rush that day and im in one now.... brothers lol
I got the replacement blades for my Alany today. I ordered the ITC ones off ebay and it flies better than it ever did. While I was waiting I repaired my original blades and balanced them and added weight to the bottom rotor to increase it's inertia. This reduced gyroscopic progression. The new blades interestingly have extra weights on the bottom rotor compared to the top, so I was on the right track. So, good upgrade over all. I can now fly around the room and land where I want.

Good to hear. Strange that your Alany didn't have extra weights on the bottom rotor. Maybe that's why yours was so difficult to handle.

for more forward/back speed I have to wonder if extending the tail boom could be a better option. The longer the tail boom the more pronounced the effect of the tail rotor will be. The only thing that may be necessary is the addition of a small amount of weight up front to counterbalance the extension.
Not as simple as just adding weight to the nose of course.

That way you're making the heli heavier and thus more inert. I don't think it'll work.
A bigger tail propeller works nice though.
