  • I honestly started laughing at this... It's pathetic. You flick like that, you're screwed plain and simple. I've been fencing fencing all three swords for 7 years now. I can honestly say that this puts flicking to shame. Get someone who knows what they're talking about, PLEASE!!!

  • all i know is i just want to fence this clown and show him what a real flick is... on his nuts

  • If you guys don't like this video and you already know what flicking is then why are you watching it?

  • Unsportsmanlike.

  • ok first off ive only fenced for about an year and a half AND I CAN FRICKED FLICK BETTER THAN THAT ok on !;15 ur not suppose to have ur arm bent like that and second the first flicks you did were barely 1 cm. you used the brown door as ur background and u had so much white spaces =.= in general u should never fence you do not deserve to even joke about knowing how to fence if i were to fence you rite now u would of come home with a epee blade up ur ass

  • @GMBFencer That's not the case for Foil, chum. Like IHSspiritandsong says, movement foward without a corresponding extension of the arm is a preparation, not a seizure of priority. Does a balestra seize priority? I don't have to respond to someone hopping down the piste, that doesn't threaten me. If they do so with their arm extended and foil aimed at me, then I threatened and must respond.

  • @Macaddict54

Sorry if I am an Épée player and I have to constantly worry about all my body...can't you just say "You are slightly wrong since this is foil"? No you must be the next Sergei Golubitsky.

  • That is going to result in your wrist being exposed to the tip of your opponent resulting in you losing and him scoring.

I may be a beginner but that is bloody basic!

  • i dont understand why so many people hate this? :I

  • @IHSspiritandsong Moving forward DOES create a right of way. and flicking is not "ify" so long as there is no hesitation before the attack.

  • This is why I don't learn fencing on youtube.

  • Shouldn't you flick with your wrist instead of the arm, so you don't put your self at risk for a quick moment, and so you can get a bunch of different angles with your wrist, but I've never fenced, just sword fought, and dueled with other weapons too.
