I reckon all other colonial powers did invade the respective colonies-to-be rightfully, we all know, For example invasion of Zululand or Sudan... and no other Country turned against the ally (Molotov-Ribbentrop anybody?).As for bribing, we only anticipated american counter surge policy (but perhaps not even that, since they admitted brining talibas as common practice). If you can bribe someone out of the fight, you can then concentrate on the diehards.

Historically the most greedy and unhonorable army.
Unjustfuly invaded Ethiopia, Betrayed Germany (One could say twice), and tried to bribe the Taliban not to kill their soldiers. Sad really
