A community dance in the Deerfield, New Hampshire, Town Hall, May 1, 2004. Marianne Taylor called the dance, with twin fiddlers Ryan Thomson and Bruce Cobb, pianist Justine Paul, and 7 year old Brennish Thomson playing rhythm on french canadian wooden spoons. In order, the tunes include "Rosses Reel," the Irish jig, "Maggie Brown's Favorite," a tune that I forget the name of, and then the "Steamboat Quickstep." Sadly, Marianne Taylor passed away in 2008 after a long life filled with music and dance. We miss her. The other musicians continue to provide lively old time New England dance music in town halls and barns. Percussionist Brennish Thomson has become a fine dance fiddler and performs often with his dad, Ryan in the duo - "The Fiddling Thomsons."

  • (The final dance sequence is the traditional "Sackett's Harbor.")
