thats exactly how my daisy is, she's about a year and a half old now, just about got her trained to sit still long enough to put the collar and leash on... lol

@cujothedog911 They have MIGHTY noses so maybe he smelled something unsafe. They'll do what you're training them to do unless they don't want to, then.... probably not.

Bassets can be stubborn as hell, but very intelligent and they will protect your kids.

we just got a basset hound puppy he is 9 weeks old we got him at 8 weeks. He would walk perfectly on a leash for the first few days, but now he won't even move, he pulls me back towards the house. We walk him on a dog tril that is behind our house. Not sure what happend. I was told that bobcat was spotted in the area..would that be why he won't go because he smells the bobcat?

I just sent this video to a friend of mine. He got mad because I didn't warn him there was someone in the video asking "Wanna go for a walk?" His black lab FLIPS OUT when it's W time...lol He used to have 2 bassets. This is pretty much the standard basset reaction. :)

I love them so much I have a girl shes a black and white shes 2 years old and she is just like them.. she is like a sponge when it comes to love she cant get enough

my dog does the same thing when I ask him that, he freaks out, jumps around, whines, barks, howls, all at the same time lol. I will have to get a video and post it up, hehe
