  • really sad video. Feel sad seeing Runaway there left all alone before demolition. Why does the UK not appreciate its heritage.

  • @prittstick1ify Thanks for the comments, it was sad to see especially when it was so close to being saved.

I was shocked when I saw it in bits, a real waste.

  • I used to love going to this place... its sad that they knocked it all down!...

  • I rode Runaway & Scenic Railway in 1997. I was annoyed at the fire on Scenic Railway, without doubt something fishy went on with the fire for our oldest wooden coaster. After Rotunda rescued Runaway, I thought it would be safe, but sadly not. Shows that seaside theme parks do not have much of a future. Only Blackpool Pleasure Beach seems to be surviving. I wish the UK cared more about its heritage than money. Always comes down to greed.

  • i rode this in 1997. feel real sad that it has gone. biggest problem with the UK is saving these old historic wooden roller coasters. Cyclone and Texas Tornado and Runaway. Beautiful video. thanks for filming it.

  • Thanks for posting, sad end to happy memories.

  • Like a ghost town. It reminds me of the film (Carnival of Souls) The Runaway coaster was found in a field in Holland. Another park murdered by Jimmy Godden. The Runaway could have been saved and stored for the planned Dreamland Heritage Park. It was killed off by greed and the bulldozers. RIP Rotunda.

  • Very sad video. It made me cry. I have lived here all my life, I was born here in Folkestone in 1949, and find it hard to see the Rotunda now demolished. Any more videos out there. Barry Oldfield x Shepway Council Road Sweeper
