Mass protests held in India over sexual violence

Mass protests have been held across India in response to the gang-rape of a medical student in New Delhi, the country's capital.
Social activists have called for a complete overhaul of the Indian legal system in terms of how it deals with crimes of sexual violence.
Al Jazeera spoke to Kiran Bedi, a former police officer and social activist, about the issue.

90 % of Indians are lower castes.How do you segregate dalit and non-dalit in it? So do you think protesters are only higher caste citizens? why are you sure that this victim is not dalit? how do you differentiate between higher caste and lower caste.Victims are victims irrespective of their religion and castes.

USA mainstream media promotes your country's intolerance from their tolerant stance. But don't mistake our generosity for naivety. We believe you are innocent until considered guilty by peers. Free? No. They would be confined to a hospital instead of jail. Can you blame the insane? If so you and your society is colder than I thought. Your response lacks answers. If you were a women, and you were raped, and you had a choice of being tried as a victim or as a perpetrator, which would you chose?

She will only be guilty if there is sufficient enough evidence. Better than your system. e.g in America someone kills 20 people, he is considered insane hence nothing will happen to him- this is your logic and hence he is set free. My friend, read about Islam please, don't listen to you media because they are biased and yes if women or men commit illegal sexual acts they are punished- whats wrong with that? The Indian women want capital punishment too.

"In case a woman gets raped , she is considered guilty of adultery unless she can provide four adult muslim male witnesses"

That is what is according to several hadiths, and in matters of Islamic law and history to this day in order for a women to be raped. Then those perpetrators need to turn there backs on one of the perpetrators, and blame him. Or is it that you stand around and watch women get raped?

Quaran stands for this? No. Islam is a perversion of what is meant to be a purer religion.

How many adultery cases do you have? How many women say it was rape but the men say it was consensual because she allured me. Then it gets tried as adultery and the women gets a death penalty and the men get a slap on the wrist. Equal rights yeah right.
