  • Why spend money on a more expensive and heavier supra when you can get a 240 and have the same engine and spend less on the long run. TT Supras run what?...$20+k when I can spend $500 on a 240sx shell plus the $15k on the swap. Granted the Supra looks much better but the power to weight ratio of the 1 or 2 j on the 240sx is much better.

  • @Salapastrozo That's not really true. Nissan made their parts interchangeable with a lot of others, so most RB stuff you can pick up off a 300ZX, some come aftermarket, etc. It used to be hard to find some things for them, but its almost as easy as finding SR parts now, if you know where to look.

On another note, I'd personally choose RB because it's inherently better for racing on courses, has some better spooling characteristics, etc. I'd only pick the 2JZ for drag imho.

  • @czarandmaeve the rb doesn't eat through oil pumps like candy if u have the version with the short snout on the crank then yes u will have problems but they have a collar that can be installed to fix that problem.

  • @Salapastrozo very true, plus i have heard the rb series engines eats through oil pumps like candy. having said that i have not owned one myself so i cant speak from first hand experience.

  • Freshhh

  • 240>supra

  • ACTUALLY this isn't no jazz car you douche the owner of this car his name is BOB and he sold this car long time ago, nice try trying to claim a car this isn't yours or your made up friend!!!!!

  • $15k? I hate to tell you (even though I'm sure you already know)...you got hosed.

Including the car itself, my final cost was ~$8000 and I didn't outsource any of the work, except the $120 braided stainless line for the high pressure side of the power steering. That price also includes my brand new Precision 6262.

    Man...15k, ouch!

  • Yeah once your shit breaks down your parts are overseas and have to get shipped

  • Don't get me wrong thought, I got mad love for the RB. But I've been told by many that it is hard as hell to get a hold of regular maintenance parts such as water pump, oil pump and things of that nature. While you could go to a decent auto part and get parts like that pretty quickly for a 1 or 2 jz

  • Yeh if i had a 240 i would go rb its somethin about that motor that makes me happy but im still saving up for a supra
