My 3rd racing sim video - this time the 1st race in a series between Sim Junkies and Nogrip. I think I've pushed Windows movie maker alot further than my last vid (even though the finished file is much smaller). I've found so many bugs in this program (should've had this finished almost a week ago) which has slowed me down alot. The timing is out in a couple of parts but the picture quality doesn't seem to have suffered though, and it runs at 30 fps rather than 25 :^)

  • Great video, particularly considering that I was in the race! I was driving the Corvette that finished in 8th place.

  • Great vid! Malcolm i guess?!

    racing simulation at his best!

    high quality work

    thx alot!

    Cobra was here!

  • WOW! I only just discovered this!

I was in the race (RSR 6th)

    FANTASTIC video, thanks!!!

What is your NG name please? Did you race?

  • wow, that was spectacular, can we hire you for parties? Kidding, Steiny saying hi! 5 outtof 5 Sir, Salute!

  • WOW! Great video of an awesome race, it was exciting to paticipate.

    Thanks for making it!

  • In Fraps I record 1360 x 768 at full (dunno what diff that makes). But in Vdub press Ctrl+P for compression, select Xvid (very bottom), then click 'configure', there's the slider.

PS, take a look at the latest vid in my favourites, puts my vids to shame. I need the video editor he's using :^)

  • Dunno if you're familiar with Virtual Dub but there's a slider for Quality vs File size, I put the slider pretty near the top for high quality but it does create larger files. You should be able to upload them to Youtube then and retain the quality. Hope this helps

  • I see what you mean about the quality. What do you use to capture the video and do you use any compression programs before you upload them. Do they only look like that once they've been uploaded to Youtube?

As for the vid quality, kinda got it by accident really. Once I've gathered the clips I want with FRaPs, at 29.97 fps, I use Virtual Dub (freeware). It has lots of compression codecs, the best one being Xvid MPEG 4.
