Sofia Fomina was born in 1982.She studied singing at the Orlovsk Music College and the Academy of Music from Moscow.Her teachers are G.N.Znamenskaya,Z.A.Dolukhanova and P.A.Kudriavcienko.She has attended master-classes given by Michael Pole and Eva Martson. She was a prize-winner at the 9.International Mozart Competition Salzburg 2006.Sofia Fomina sang the role of Despina in Mozarts Cosi fan tutte;Susanna in Mozarts Le nozze di Figaro in the Novosibirsk Opera Theatre under Theodor Kurentsis;was a solist in Carl Orffs Carmina Burana,Mozarts motet Exultate jubilate,Handel Dixit dominus She took part in the 7th Sviridov Festival and in the festival Three Centuries of Classical Art Song.She held song and lied recitals in Japan,Letuan.
Her repertoire includes Belinda Dido and Aeneas,Susanna Le Nozze di Figaro, Despina Cosi fan tutte, Musetta,Mimi La Boheme. Marfa Tsars Bride, Snow maiden Snow maiden, and Ludmila Ruslan and Ludmila.
