why is it that when you talk about some of the greatest players to ever come out of indiana, shawn gets no love?? shawn is a family friend so im a little biased but damon bailey? steve alford? these guys were good but theyre playing careers didnt come close to kemp!

@broaddusmarines I wouldn't deny your list, but I would add a name. I was in the gym the night Shawn Kemp and Concord played against another NBA star in the making, also in his junior year. His name was Rick Fox. By the way, Shawn set the current McCuen Gym (Concord's home floor) scoring record that night putting in 49 points, while Fox "only" had 26. One more name I just thought of was Scott Skiles who also came out in the 80's.

I'm also from Indiana and graduated the same year as Kemp did (1988). Sean Kemp was one of the best HS players to come out of Indiana in the 1980s (along with James Blackmon and Jay Edwards, IMO), but he only cared about making highlight reels. This Muncie team ran Kemp's Elkhart off the court, btw. Kemp's HS career was like his NBA career. You did a lot of "ooohs and aaahs", but in the back of your mind, you were kinda' disappointed.
