the big ones are in the south i live in fl and holy shit they get big and they got like 6inch or more reach with neck

Yeah! I love catch turtles. I've never seen an soft shells yet, but I really want to catch one. I live in NJ, any advice on how and where to catch an eastern spiny soft shell?

@AlexZDEFAZIO - I would check the Maurice River. Also google reptiles and amphibians of NJ. I think there's a pretty cheap version of that guide that would probably be a great resource for you.

@Pilot9r - yeah the eastern spiny does. in counties up near lake ontario and i think down near pa.
