Chris from Downtube replaces a brake cable. He begins by routing it into the brake lever then through the housing and attaching it to the bicycle.

  • How did you get the beans above the frank?

  • @MisterQuebec its meant to be too long. it gives the option of adjusting to fit multiple bikes and applications.

  • @readyset They tend to be about £30, why buy one when you can just use a sharp chisel and a hammer onto a bit of steel.

  • good video but those style of brakes are prone to failure since that aluminum rod has a tendency to crack or become loose in just a short time

  • When i try to put the noodle in the housing bunches up and screws it up.... but i am just replacing the cable so the housing was the propor size.... whats wrong

  • you need a pair of brake cable cutters, it's usually sold longer so you can custom cut it to your size.

  • Before buying the brake cable, mesure the length you will need. I bought one just to find out it was too long by 3 feet!
