As part of the opening day activities for IRRI's Alumni Homecoming activities, a tree is planted to symbolize the fruitful partnership between the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI: http:/irri.org) and the Rural Development Administration (RDA; http://www.rda.go.kr/foreign/eng/ ) of the Republic of Korea.
Joining in the ceremony are Dr. Jae-Soo Kim, RDA administrator; Elizabeth Woods, chair of the IRRI board of trustees; and Robert Zeigler, IRRI director general.
Following the tree planting, a memorandum of agreement between IRRI and Korea was signed.
