There was never enough heat in the cockpit on those days.

So cool! I just saw one on floats here at youtube.Didn't know they put them on DC3's.I knew a guy who flew one for Points North Air. Beautiful bird they are.

The cold air must have something to do with the sharp sound made by the props....Ive never heard it that loud on DC3 takeoffs in warmer air....

You're right about that, they're snarly when it's cold. This was taken when it was about -30*C.
