A fundamental component of HSE's well control lineup is our hot tap service.

HSE's hot tap drilling enables operators to access pressurized or potentially pressurized piping or vessels while maintaining pressure control. The process is widely used to facilitate re-entry and/or abandonment, establish bleed-off ports, or provide access for well-kill procedures. Hot tapping is typically used when no other options exist, and has proven to be a safe and integral means of pressure control.

HSE's hot tap drills, which are rated to 35 mPa (5000 psi), are located in Sylvan Lake, Alberta and Grande Prairie, Alberta.

Our operators are trained internally through a formal process, and supervised through a quality-control program to ensure safety performance and customer satisfaction.
