This has always warmed my Celtic heart, both for the powerful yet sensitive Carthy rhythm and picking, and for June's fine dusky vocals. Thanks for posting it.

@Clothosx Well I first heard this in 1974 when a school chum lent to me the casette tape of the album. It still grabs me the song is so perfect in its simplicity. If you can't appreciate this you have your musical taste in your arse. The same friend also lent to me Songs of love and hate by Cohen, I tell you for a thirteen year old he had some class.

@Fooliccini Boy, that is a big ask. The guitar on this track is played by Martin Carthy who is known as a master of these tunings. It just might be something approximating the C tuning he sometimes has used, but am not sure. There is another version of this song (different again) by Martin Carthy on Youtube. Could be worth a listen to see if you can work it out also. -- Rgds.

For Carol, Ali, & Denise. x x x x Many memories of a happy time in my life, before I realised the washing up liquid I was using to clean the kitchen was rather toxic. Stil bearing the scars, but..... we move on. x x

I listen to this song over and over again. Then I come back to it later. It never ceases to be pleasing. :)

Does anyone have a tab for this? Or know the tuning?

I'm going to see if Youtube will let me slide on copyright issues for a time so I can post lots of videos of brilliant music made by the fat, ugly, old, disfigured, and even the poorly dressed - just so that I can piss off some of the juveniles masquerading as adults who post here.
How such beautiful music attracts such insipid, asinine, and odious people, I'll never understand.
Clearly, some of us are not "studying Zen" as "seriously" as they claim. Oh, and it's "entries" not "entrys".

@Clothosx _ I am wondering if you might be willing to block a user if they clearly create mischief for over a period of a year?
Two other Steeleye Span pages have done so, l do not understand the technical requirements of this, but can supply the name (off-page) of one of the uploaders.

@ParArdua - In my experience, if you pay too much mind to trolls and cretins by deleting, blocking, or arguing with them, they're likely getting exactly what they wanted in the first place: attention. Not to mention the fact that many of them will just create new accounts.
It's rare that I acknowledge their piteous existence at all as I did above today. What can I say? I'm human.
Besides, I think it's better to leave them exposed so all users can see them for exactly what they are.
