- the opening lyrics to "Carini" were changed after an onstage incident in November '98: 11-06-98 in Madison, WI during "Prince Caspian." Footage of the moment is up here on YouTube:

Many onstage incidents such as the "Naked Dude" one turned out OK, with everyone in good spirits and humor - Fishman yells "bring him back! Bring him back!!!" and the moment was immortalized in song.

The band often responds creatively when it happens; the "Carini's gonna get you" event from the Island Tour during "Loving Cup" on 4-3-98 sparked a memorable performance of "Antelope" and the three amazing encores - including "Carini".

On this evening however, four songs after "Carini", it was a much different vibe, catching the band & everyone off-guard from an unexpected direction as Trey was singing the bridge of "AC/DC Bag".

- but first, nice performances of "Carini", "All of These Dreams", "Limb by Limb" & "The Oh Kee Pah Ceremony". . .

Trey got worse at guitar. Didnt think that was possible but this guy was remarkably good in the early 90's, like best ever conversation, this video shows how far this guy has fallen.

- Trey ripped it up during the encore of "Loving Cup" a few songs later - worth checking out.

The following '03 shows in Las Vegas, Denver, Cincinnati & at the Nassau Coliseum were very good with better playing & memorable jams - check out the "Piper" from Feb. 16th. . .

All in all he was also playing pretty good on guitar this past June too!

- definitely a bit off - quite noticeable is how Trey sings "the thesis that you're writing" part a few bars early, catching his bandmates by surprise. . .

lol, i have to admit you are partially correct IMHO. I think it's due to "other" reasons making him sloppy. I thought 03' was horrible and i'm not overly impressed now in 09'. At least he cleaned his sound up a bit from the first few shows of the tour.
