its not ingrown unless it hurts, i trimmed my nails in a similar fashion and had to have my ingrown toenails treated by a doctor.

This technique is what first started my life of ingrown toenails. During my very first pedicure the side of my nail was trimmed and I had no ingrown nail or any pain. After the nail started to grow back I got ingrown toenails. The side of the nail is not suppose to be cut unless you are at a doctor's office. Once they remove the ingrown toenail, they use acid to stop the nail from ever growing back in that area. When your "girl" does it, the nail just grows back and starts the cycle of pain.

I did the same thing with some asian lady at a nail salon. I almost died from the pain lol. Its so much easier to go to a doctor. They will numb you and get it out once and for all.
