One of the biggest questions which the IDF constantly deals with is how to preserve human life, in combat or during routine activity. Every year thousands of new recruits are trained to become paramedics and provide medical assistance to people in need -- soldiers and civilians, Palestinians and Israelis. One new program set on teaching both staff and field soldiers about the basics of modern medicine is an emergency simulation course, located on a base near Kiryat Gat.
