  • Unique and unforgettable tune and performance from Jack Payne, he lived near us in Tonbridge in Kent in retirement.

  • I can`t believe that I have not made a comment on this AWESOME, AWESOME song! It`s so refreshing to Me to see such young people posting and listening to these BEAUTIFUL records! I`m not over the hill Myself in My 40s and have listend to this music all My life. As well as collected 78 rpm records scence I was 9 years old. I LOVE THIS!!!

  • I first heard this as the signature opening tune to the BBCs highly acclaimed Pennies from Heaven. Most of my favourites are on that dvd. would'nt it be cool to be able to go to a place and hear a lot of these 30s bands revived in a live setting? This is my grandparents generation of music, and i reckon they had the best.

  • Love the trumpets in the middle!

  • Probably a stupid question, but why the picture..or more precisely whats the connection (if any) ?

  • 1:32 hey ho around you my arms would be called Hey-ho, we hadn't a care in the world

  • It was used by Dennis Potter in his play Pennies from Heaven. See my profile for more Dennis Potter interview/documentary

  • I heard this song on an old VHS I bought years ago. Instantly fell in love with the song, and I was amazed to, by chance, come across it. Thanks for uploading it. May I ask, where did you source it?
