Like them or hate them.... Glen Frey and Don Henley ARE the Eagles! They write 90% of the songs. Don Felder made a TON of money and wont have to work another day in his life. And contrary to some of these posts, He didnt write "Hotel California" by himself. Henley and Frey had a big part in writing it.

Felder wrote the chord progression in its entirety as well as the 12-string intro, bass part and of course his half of the solo. Henley and Frey certainly played a big part in the lyrics and melody but most of the writing of the "backing track" is Felder's credit alone.

They both did. Felder talks about it in his book. You might find a video on youtube with felder and the band performing HC.

Better to keep ones' mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt. Get a copy of the album and read the credits for each song: Walsh was prominently featured throughout the album, and especially during the instrumental runs with Felder on Hotel California. Joe also sang "Pretty Maids All In A Row" on the album...
