It's not better than the Stones, it's just as good.. depends on what version you feel like at the time, this is a darker version for sure, and at some moments, it feels right, & at others, the Stones do duty .. The song is excellent, no matter what! Thank god for both versions.... :-) It's a timeless classic now, & so it should be...

Thanks to Jagger and Richards for having the amazing foresight to write the ultimate goth song for the ultimate goth band when Eldritch himself was still at primary school. They were into the occult around this time, they must have seen the Sisters Of Mercy coming. Were the Rolling Stones the first goths? A stunning cover version the Sisters make sound purely their own creation.
