In 1953, the United States overthrew the only democratic leader Iran ever had; Mossedegh, at the request of the British SIS (MI6).

Mossedegh had decided to stop Britain from stealing it's natural resources (Oil) & give the profits back to the rightful owner's, namely the Iranian people.

Having expelled British dimplomats from the country, the British turned to America to plan & operate the coup.

Afterwards, the United States reinstalled the Shah & trained his brutal secret police force; The Savak, who killed & tortured 1000's of people for decades.

The CIA in Iran
New York Times Special

* Britain, fearful of Iran's plans to nationalize its oil industry, came up with the idea for the coup in 1952 and pressed the United States to mount a joint operation to remove the prime minister.

Torture's Teachers

"the C.I.A. sent an operative to teach interrogation methods to SAVAK, the Shahs secret police, that the training included instructions in torture, and the techniques were copied from the Nazis."

REFORMING U.S. INTELLIGENCE, Allan E. Goodman

"The CIA's close relationship with SAVAK also caused the agency to refuse to collect information - under ground rules set by the White House against spying on the shah - about the torture and other abuses that this secret-police organization used to repress the regime's opponents."

Allan E. Goodman former Presidential Briefing Coordinator for the Director of Central Intelligence and Special Assistant to the Director of the National Foreign Assessment Center in the Carter administration.

"Nobody Influences Me!"
article in Time Magazine
Monday, Dec. 10, 1979

"In 1957, with the help of the CIA, he set up SAVAK, the notorious secret police, to crack down on dissidents."

"There is no longer any dispute that SAVAK practiced systematic torture."

"President Nixon gave the Shah carte blanche to buy all the American weapons he desired."

"Amnesty International in the 1970s described other methods of torture: electric shock, burning on a heated metal grill, and the insertion of bottles and hot eggs into the anus. Last spring Anne Burley, an Amnesty International researcher, was shown by the government a SAVAK file that she deems authentic, containing pictures of victims who had been tortured to death. Several were women, she says, and "in each case the breasts were mutilated."

  • Excellent video except for the retarded music.

Too bad the people cannot rise against the corrupt crooks that run our Government and hold them responsible.

  • Thanks.

The retarded music is my own.

  • No. There are many alternative forms of Anti-Capitalism, besides Communism.

Your suggestion about moving to an even more repressive country, because I am unhappy with the level of repression from our own governments makes no sense.

Nor is it in the full spirit of freedom of speech: You are basically saying leave the country rather than exercising your rights to criticize your government.

Stalin would be proud of you.

  • The United States has overthrown more democratic governments around the world than any other country, including the Soviet Union.

In 2000, the United States even overthrew itself.

  • What Britain and the USA did in Iran was disgraceful and it directly at fault for how Iran has ended up.

  • dude this is old news. they took down our once great leader

  • What happened to all the people, who told iranians to stand up, and exercise their rights? Just like the first iraqie war, seems only the cia are doing anything, or are they?

  • this is sad, but we know who is in power, so no surprise!

  • Some comrades were saying a small but popular slogan has been "death to the compromisers"? The Savak makes up the majority of the Pasdaran 'Revolutionary Guard' but the real militant workers were slain a long time ago, and long gone are the Shoras the invented 'Revolutionary' Islamic Council...where do you think this current rebellion can lead to? Are there limits to what can be achieved at the moment, or are things progressing?

  • The British bastards also planned the Iran-Iraq war, as a part of the "Al-Ahwaz Project", which falls under the greater "Bernard Lewis Project". The entire idea of Islamizing Iran was proposed by Prof. Bernard Lewis. His plan was then implemented by strategists like Zbigniew Brzezinski and George Ball. Have a look at Dr. Kaveh Farrokh's assessment about how Britain is working to destabilize the "Middle East" (another invented geopolitical term by Britain). He is an expert on Iranian studies.

  • Britain also replaced the Shah with Khomeini, after the Shah had refused to extend a deal with BP, which would have allowed Britain to continue exploiting Iranian oil. (see "A Century of War" with the German historian Engdahl) Of course, the propagandists at BBC (in Iran, we call it "Ayatollah BBC"), would never tell you that. Still, today, Ayatollah BBC calls the events in Iran "protest", although the people in Iran are waving old flags & saying no to the entire clerical rule (Velayat-e Faqih).

  • Endless wars,Abusive powers,Decline living standards,Lack proper healthcare,Loosing jobs- no sense of security..etc.American dream got in the corporate-WHITEHOUSEWHORES's jaws & the military helped.Whats in it for a U.S. citizen to have trillions of debt?Or to project power across the globe?yet the military enjoys tearing down communities, civilizations bringing genocide- choas. You will be Despized..you are not defeanding anyone exept your paychecks..enjoy resistance..From Iraq..El Toro.
