This is a song I wrote about a month ago. It started out as a song about me and how I used to be shy, but morphed into a love song thanks to my friend, Ellera, who is a real sap on the inside and helped me with the bridge. Thanks! Also for Olly, an inspiration.
Here are the lyrics:
(Verse 1)
Why do you need her?
That flower on the wall,
Why should you talk to her?
She doesn't speak at all

She's a nuisance, an oddball,
A part of scenery,
She's a bother, a burden,
Who's hoping that you'll see.
(Chorus 1)
That flowers on the wall aren't just,
Part of the blackground,
She's got feelings and she's singing,
But you don't hear a sound,
Got a nose hidden in that book of hers and a hand on her guitar,
And she's strumming while she's reading,
About someplace really far away

Verse 2.
But why should you care,
If she's suffering inside,
What does it matter,
If the tears pool in her eyes.

She is out there, she's psycho,
She's clinically insane,
She's a bookworm with anger,
That's drowned out by her pain

(Insert Chorus 1)

(Bridge)
And I walk over there,
and I tell her my name,
And I see in her smile,
All the sorrow and the pain,
And as we walk off together,
I'm holding her close,
Because deep on the inside,
I know what she loves most.
(Mini-verse 3)
she's no longer a burden,
And now I know her name,
And I know now that my world,
Will never be the same
(chorus 2)
She knows that
Flowers on the wall aren't just,
Part of the background,
She's got feelings
And she's showing them,
And people gather 'round
She is playing that guitar of hers,
And singing that old song,
And she's strumming while she's reading,
About someplace really far away

(Epilogue)
He'll never be far away
Far away

Chords: The progression is G, D, Em, C for the whole song.
