Mortal Rounds in the Fatal Cypher is a meditation on life, death, conflict, rebirth, and the struggle to find peace while surviving in a brutal world. Exaggerated "burns" (mimed gestures of violence) from Up-Rocking (the predecessor to breakdancing) drive the action of this structured improvisation which is completely different every time it is performed. Featuring music by Bonobo and accompanied by a live beatboxer, Mortal Rounds showcases a large diverse cast of breakdancers, poppers, lockers, krumpers, and all styles of street dancers.
