@ShoppingBargains Maybe I should say it's a hillbilly instrument from the Ozark mountains in America since we play them here? lol There is a version of it in almost every country and like someone said it comes from the old Persian central Asia.

this is Thai music and it's just look like from Chinese but it's not yangquin 100 % I'm khim player and has been for 20 years !!!

This is Thai, but both instruments are related, but different. The original one is not Chinese though. It comes from Central Asia if I am not wrong. Google and you will find an aswer.
