2004 Savannah Stars 6 Year Old Georgia Youth Football Champs -- This is the best 5 and 6 year old football team in the country. They have won 33 games in a row. Savannah has many great athletes but they do not get the exposure that they should. I have coached youth football in Savannah for 7 years with great results. These boys were the first 5 and 6 year old team in Savannah to create a multi-faceted passing football team. In 2004 we had 11 different kids run the ball. Most boys on the team know at least three positions. My offense had over 50 plays and by the end of the season were able to run them on their own, including audibles. They are college ready players. I am curious how you get interest at 6 years of age and how the heck you get the parents to approve this? I think 6 is a little young for contact football but feel that sport skills should be instilled quite early.

Well, this team is actually made up of 4,5,6 year olds. When you coach any youth sport you have got to be animated. I use alot of verbal and physical cues. I dont limit their growth and understanding. It takes patience but by the end of the season they are crushing opponents. I am going to write a book. I also caoch 5 and 6 basketball. They look like college players instead of the babies. If you dont tell them they are babies then they wont even know.

Yall got a good group of boys but if you brought them to Athens,Ga they might not win a game! And starting your child at 4,5,6 is a good thing. I recommend it, or your boy will be left behind!
