@XXBruceLee They are adjusting the weight based on leverage. He is away from the car and the apparatus is all way underneath it acting as a giant lever. For it to be 2700 he'd have to have the entire car up on his shoulders somehow and would be squatting almost 3x the world record squat single for several reps.

The doesn't weigh 700lbs. The weight of that is 2,700lbs.

@jasonmacm yes but the engine in a honda accord is in the front, still heavy as hell though, now if he turned the car around it would be even harder, not like he couldnt do it haha

Did taking the shoes off make the difference? Do they let him compete that way? I use to do my entire workout barefoot because of all the pictures of Arnold doing it that way. Now that I'm old as shit I have to wear shoes. But then again I have really crappy bone structure, particularly in the feet. Obviously Derek has no such problem.
