Such amazing kicks and sharpness! BY FAR the best high kick team technique wise. When they have good choreographed dances there is no stopping them...

I think it is clear that the judging system is nowhere near perfect-why have the same judges judge prelims and finals? To me, that sounds like once you are placed in prelims, you have little chance of moving (save for AAA, where there are typically very few points separating the top teams).
It indeed appears that teams must "win over" judges to place now, that is the trend I and others have observed over the past decade or so.

yea, now it seems to come down to the judges matter of opinion, not how well you're scored... how does that work? (i mean i know how it works but how is that fair at all???). so pretty much if a team kicks like crap, but some how the judges still enjoy the dance, they can beat everyone? so lame.
i still absolutely loved mg and ep dances though. i think all the teams did an awesome job this year.

they beat maple grove and ahh i forgot who got third in like regular points but they lost in rank points... that is what i heard at least but if you are a dancer you know what that means... but it pretty much means that they had better technique and everything else then them, but a boring dance... they should of gotten second i do agree that it was kinda boring dance but these girls exicuted it sooo well but i guess no one cares about skill anymore.. it sucks

In the High Kick division the judges look for straight backs and legs, pointed feet, uniform height and place of kicks, level hips, foot placement, and arm connections. are looking for rotation timing and completion, posture, difficulty of skills, and flexibility movements.
>> ... that's funny because it says nothing about personal opinion in the judging because at state blazettes scored HIGHER than eden prairie and maple grove the third and second place finishers. Apparently you have to win over the judges now to win?
