This is not a surprise for any Turkish citizen or any foreigner, who visited Turkey and saw the development and wealth with their own eyes. However the image that some of the Western-European countries and USA create and present to the World is very different and they succeed significantly, that's why it is no wonder that people think of Turkey like it was in 60s and get surprised by these statistics.

Yes, İt is not only a interesting meets. İt's a social engineering by Turkey, I think. You can see similar things in economic stuff which is depend on the people lifes.
Turkey also aiming to catch the higly OECD standarts out there and enter the major TEN economy of world in Turkey's republic hundredth anniversary at 2023
it also most likely will be by leaving out France's economy

Yes, when i was studying in Denmark, it's shown by my maths teacher. Scandinavians are so interested in Turkey.
