Rockstar 101 Songwriting Contest January 2009

Oddball Productions is looking for Edmontons hottest new independent act. Together with Powersound Studios, they want to give you the opportunity to record a single with Holden Daniels (from My Sister Ocean) and have it mixed and mastered by Phil Anderson at one of Western Canada's most renown studios. In addition to the professionally recorded track, you'll also received a music video of the single that you can use on your website, on YouTube, or your press kit to get better gigs, more fans, and more industry attention.

THE TEAM:

DANNY FOURNIER

Danny Fournier brings over a decade of experience to this project. During his 5 years at BMG, he helped break artists such as 3 Days Grace, Maroon Five, Dido, and Avril Lavigne. Since starting Oddball Productions, Danny has continued to help break artists across Canada, some of which have achieved Top 10 charting positions on commercial radio, campus radio, and satellite radio. Portal, My Sister Ocean, Long Way Down, and Jets to Theory are just a few of the Edmonton bands he's provided consulting services for in an effort to increase their exposure in the Canadian music scene. Danny will be providing 6 weeks of consulting services.

PHIL ANDERSON

Phil Anderson is the owner and visionary behind Powersound Studios. His production and engineering career has spanned over fifteen years, during which he has had the opportunity to work with many notable artists and industry professionals including Nick Blagona, Brad Pitt, Tupelo Honey, Chunk, and Trevor Hurst (from Econline Crush). In addition to being a producer he is also a sought after mixing and mastering engineer. Phil will be mixing and mastering your shiny new single.

HOLDEN DANIELS

Holden Daniels is an up and coming producer who brings almost 2 decades of songwriting and performance experience and over a decade of production experience to this project. He has scored for film and television, and is also an accomplished corporate video producer and music video director. He also has an endorsement deal with Gallien-Krueger Bass Amps. He is most recognized for being the frontman in My Sister Ocean, a bass and drum duo that has achieved Top 40 chart positions on commercial radio across Canada. Holden will be producing your song and directing your music video.

This contest is open to anyone in the Edmonton area and the deadline for submissions is January 31st. Winners will be announced on February 15th, 2009.

Remember, your submissions don't have to sound polished, that's what the team will be doing for you. Just go to oddballproductions.ca for all the info you need or send your MP3 and bio to rockstar101@oddballproductions.ca Limit of 3 songs per artist.

Top 3 submissions will be notified first week of February. Final winner will be picked out of a hat, live, on February 15th.
