What is The Atheist Experience?

The Atheist Experience is a weekly cable access television show in Austin, Texas geared at an atheist and non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin (ACA), a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.

  • dumbest conversation ever heard

  • Inarticulate, incoherent and a fine example of this type

  • Strategy-Man speaks, and the world blows chunks!

  • Trying to use logic on a believer? Good luck with that.

  • I watch The Atheist Experience only because they have Tracie. I am sure if we took a poll of the viewers, 99 % would agree with me.

I just dont get tired of loving her.

  • @ADADEL1 What I would then like to quote to you are the words of Thomas Aquinus: "God acts mercifully, not indeed by going against his justice, but by doing something more than justice; thus a man who pays another two hundred pieces of money, though owing him only one hundred, does nothing against justice, but acts liberally or mercifully."

When you understand the forgiveness of sin as a gift to that person, it all comes together.

  • @MrWildbill20056 Hu? Mercy is a suspension of justice. A being of perfect justice would have no mercy and vice versa.

  • @rrpostalagain We appear to have no conflict until you open up with an unsubstantiated assertion to close. No, there is no 'pretzel logic' or 'mental gymnastics' to understand the Christian God as being entirely just and entirely merciful.

Normally the objections made to this are purely subjective arguments from feeling or opinion, which may not be applied legitimately to a being who's justice and mercy are objectively perfect by necessity.

  • @MrWildbill20056 The host mentioned how it is more nuanced by many people to avoid the contradictions. I'm not sure we should assume those nuances or not. I probably wouldn't have even mentioned it myself. I think a legitimate contradiction to point out is if someone claims the "completely just and completely merciful" god, as you would need some serious pretzel logic to square that circle.

  • I'm glad they cut this video to 9:33 so I didn't have to burst into tears by the thought that there are more human beings like this. Oh and btw... I watched the whole atheistexperience series and I'm on prozac now -_-
