  • hey man, just a friendly tip, I'd suggest moving those egg carttons so they face opposite directions, like so you cant smush any roaches in between, I've done it before! lol

  • I've observed them both ways and came to believe they reproduced better when the spaces were tighter. I've never seen one squished from an egg carton, that's for sure, but I'm careful not to. I no longer keep roaches. I could keep the colony secure from escapees, but not the critter enclosures I was feeding them too. I was still finding roaches a year after around the herp room. Without lab security, I don't approve of keeping roaches any more.

  • Im getting some of these in the mail next week. How bad is there odor?

  • How much they smell depends somewhat on how clean you keep them. When the colony becomes over crowded they will give off a stronger smell. If there is roach food going bad in the container and it's full of frass it will stink just like you might think it would. A well kept colony doesn't need to smell bad at all. Try and keep them fairly dry and well ventilated.

  • where do u get roaches

  • I got a few from a friend and let the colony build up over a few months. Depending on where you are, you might buy them on line.
