Now it is my pleasure to present my first FEATURE-LENGTH movie upload on YouTube. I saw that nobody has uploaded this, so I decided to.

It is The Wizard of Oz, a 1982 Japan-animated film, but is only recorded in English. It stars Aileen Quinn (Annie) as Dorothy and Lorne Greene as The Wizard.

Not to be confused with the 1939 MGM movie we all know so well, this is probably the most faithful adaption to L. Frank Baum's original story, although the red slippers are borrowed from the 1939 movie.

Enjoy this movie. I'm sure for some of you, it will bring back memories. For those who have never seen this before, you're in for a treat. I really like this adaptation. I think you will, too.

  • as much as i love this version, i have to say that wasn't the best melting scene that I have seen.

  • @thespiankid2318 Agreed. But actually melting a wicked witch the right way might be tricky in animation, right?

  • The Wicked Witch has a surprisingly minor role in this film compared to the 1939 version. Not that it's a bad thing, but I wouldn't have minded a bit more screentime with her.

BTW, I really dig the way her voice pitches up as she literally shrinks into nothing. (Yeah, I know, it's supposed to be melting, but it looks more like shrinking to me.)

  • @Turnajon I would be saying the same thing that it looks more like shrinking to me.

  • Sure, the melting isn't the greatest. But, this entire scene is great because you're actually scared. This witch really is bad news and I love Dorothy stuck up in the tower. This entire film version is one of the better ones.

  • 6:27 Baby got BACK!

  • I Think There was also Wasps And The Army Working for the Witch Of The West.

  • if your a witch you really shouldnt keep a jug of water in your tower o_o

  • @Imogence Beautiful, just a beautiful quote XD

  • Dorothy looks like Alice [from alice in wonderland]!
