    Will this calibration work with cameras with a wide angle lens though? I would assume this will only work for camera that use lenses with no distortion.

    I'm using a Microsoft LifeCam VX-6000, which has a 71-degree wide angle lens. That's the camera used in this video and it works great!

  • Wide angle lenses are just a mathematical calculation away from a straight lens. Thats why the 4 points are on the outmost corners, where the angles are the widest. One simple (complex actually) calculation and you can identify the cameras viewing angle and box

  • Hmm that's interesting. I'm still not sure how it would work with wider lenses (I'm talking 80-110 degree lenses) since I don't see how only 4 points can account for lens distortion.
