Used half inch plywood, each space is 14 inches wide and 14 inches deep. Height is 12 inches. The top is angled for 2 reasons, prevent them from nesting on top and also opens up for a little storage. No rules on the size, just wanted to make it large enough for large chicken.
Ya, I agree with planning for the future! Also floor spacing, for others who are considering this, is 4 square feet per large standard hen as a standard for floor calculations. Bantams can do with less.
what is the size of each nest? the height, width and length please
thanks

Just an old building on the property that has been converted into a barn.

We have 3 acres for them to free range during the day so the only time they are in the coop is night or while laying eggs.
Thanks for the info
