AT&T considers Edge 3g. Edge right before the iPhone launch jump up to 256k from 56k.

The main reason I like 3G networks is for the car, where I don't have wifi. I'm not old enough to drive yet, so I'm constantly in the passenger or back seat watching TV or downloading music. Wifi is great, but not evolved enough to have it in every location where Power Vision is.
