It was a hot Sunday afternoon in the 90's ( 90 degrees, not the year ) as the hometown Kansas City Royals hosted the Minnesota Twins. The Royals beat the Twins 5 to 4 in 12 innings!
The Royals tied it up at 4 late in the game, sending it into extra innings, and eventually won it in the 12th inning when struggling Tony Pena Jr. came thru with 2 clutch hits, the 2nd one being the game winner! Joakim Soria pitched scoreless 8th and 9th inning, recording 4 strikeouts. Mark Teahen came away with 3 hits, while the Royals prevented the many Twins fans in attendance from celebrating a sweep series. Put those brooms away!!
Royals Win!!!
Enjoy the Royals Waterfountain Spectacular, the New Jumbo Tron, George Brett's bronze statue, and the rest of the ballpark scene!
"Hot dog anyone!?"
I was at this game, I was clutching my frosty malt stick for good luck, it worked!! Now I keep it with me all the time.
