This scooter was rebuild in 2000 using original parts from different source scooters combining 1959 triumph frame & running with 1964 BSA power unit and sundry other used bits and pieces. It has been laid up for the past 7 years waiting for a full mechanical rebuild including some of the things BSA/Triumph should have before starting production like; updated & uprated engine lubrication, cooling & oil filtration systems, updated electrical & ignition systems, electric fuel pump and modern carburettor, modified cooling and exhaust systems, uprated front suspension, and uprated clutch.
@FIFTIESCRUISER I thought only the BSA-badged version was avaliable with the 175 single?

Nice to hear one running again! It appears to be performing well even in unrestored condition!

So Mr Wowwhataride, you've rekindled the interest in my Tigress days so I dug out our wedding film from 1964 when the bike has a small part... I've uploaded it as: 'Triumph Tigress Takes Me to My Wedding'

What a great video and what amazing memories... I had a 1960 metallic blue Triumph Tigress which took me all over Southern England for several years... I had to give it up in 1964 when my Mother-in-Law bought me a car as she didn't want her daughter on the back of this bike...... I had to choose.... the bike or my Wendy!
I think I may have made the right decision... but only just!!!!
Just hearing that smooth 4 stroker brings back memories... amazing!
Show us more... best regards.... Clive

Sounds like a somewhat clatty A65 which with 5 thou on the valves all round is reasonable - lovely.

Hi,
Great video. I have a 175cc Triumph Tigress scooter believed unused since around 1970. I look forward to seeing further videos on this.

Well done . I have two of these 250cc ohv engines in my garage that I bought off eBay some time ago, quite simply because they are a beautiful piece of engineering and worth preserving but never actually heard one running until now ... brilliant ! It sure has the sound of a British twin about it, an Edward Turner design, and a classic.
Keep us posted on the rebuild .
