Cambodia - Rural Community Development, Project No.6, Day 3.

A lot of sawing and chisseling going on today. Our local team mark out the parts of the wood that need to be shortened or changed and then the volunteers get to work on it.
Lunch today was frog and snake, and for those who have never tried it, believe me youd be surprised at just how tasty it is. By the time volunteers leave they often cant get enough fried frog.
The grandfather is helping us with overseeing the delivery of materials and supplies, and some of the women in the family help to prepare the food. The widowed mother we are building this home for is partially blind and suffers from some slight mental illness, so her contribution in the project is limited but the extended family is large and everyone is far excited to help out and interact with the westerners.
Our intern Chea, who is the 14 year old son from project No.4 is very happy to be back to work. He is on our team till 12 every day, but then has school in the afternoon. Hes on a small local salary (which is shared emongst his family) , but to be honest hed probably work regardless of the money as he loves working with our team.
The water pump is now finished. It just takes the team 1 day to finish the pump, and then we have a water supply to mix the cement, and when we plant some crops we will need it then as well.
