Years ago I was at a football supporters dinner do in London and Bob Wilson was one of the evening's guests. He said that day was the worst in his football career. The reason why he was so livid in the first half, awful defending aside, was that him and Charlie George had been saying to the team all week it'd be no walkover but the rest of the side thought they were already in the final. Bob told us that despite it being at Hillsborough the sound of the Roker Roar that day still haunts him.

Too young to remember this game, but after doing some "boredom" research that directed me to Jeff Blockley, I had to see what THAT mistake was all about. Looked like he had a shocker that day. Did the Arsenal manager at the time really publicly admit that signing him was the worst mistake he ever made? Talk about a kick in the groin...

Great upload cheers,5 minutes which show perfectly the superiority of the game then as compared to the packaged, middle class pantomime we have to endure now.

great commentary by Brian Moore.

What's also amazing is that Sunderland were in the 2nd Division (now known as the Championship) at that time

It was Hillsborough and 55,000 crowd.

Great moment.
Looks like Hillsborough. Great to see the 1970 crowds again when grounds had a proper football atmosphere.
As a regular Chelsea supporter both home and away in the 70s and 80s it really f***s me off now when I see 'fans' behaving as they're out on a shopping trip in Marks and Spencers.
