I have loved this song ever since I first heard it as a kid in elementary school! There are actually several versions of it, as with most folk songs, and this one is from the negro spiritual tradition. I chose what I thought were the best elements of every version I've heard and came up with my own arrangement. I hope it blesses you as much as it does me!

I loved it! It was hard finding the version that I remember hearing as a kid or even one with vocals!(I did find some lovely instrumental versions though)... Thank you so much for posting!

@TheTobyOne You're welcome! I'm glad you were able to find one like the version you remembered hearing! I actually made this out of a couple of different versions. I kept the parts that made most sense. Some versions don't really stick strictly to the story. Anyway, I'm glad you liked it!
