  • Nice review, thanks for giving some inside info on this book! I liked how you showed and talked about the artwork (and I agree on your b/w preference), but I missed a bit more structure in your review, as the plot was a little vaguely presented.

Once the story is clear and understood, I think the artwork gets an extra dimension added to itself. Just a constructive tip from a fellow Slaine-fan. I can tell that you are, as your passion for the book came seeping through the video!

  • @Kvaminator

Thanks for the constructive advice, Kvaminator!

  • I want it soooooo bad :'(

  • @DarkWizardMonkey

I'm sure it's been reprinted since that edition. Check Amazon.

Get any Slaine, but definitely the Sky Chariots story arc!

  • God I used to have a copy of that particular story in the eighties!

I even remember some of the lines, notably when one of the vikings saw slaine's fighting prowess and said something to the effect of "you could be my son."

and celtic warriors of the time saying "He's like warriors of old."

  • Nice one.

The new collections, published by Rebellion (who now own the 2000ad characters including Slaine & Judge Dredd) are closer to US format in size.

    1. Warrior's Dawn (includes Sky Chariots arc I believe)

    2. Time Killer

    3. The King

    4. The Horned God (the first colour collection)

There are other storys, all written by Pat Mills, but most of them have yet to be reprinted - apart from the latest 3 volume hardbacks - The Books of Invasions.

  • i loved finn. dont think it was released as a graphic novel though

  • another amazing novel theres 9 right now 10th comes out in sept. but the walking dead amazing amazing its also in black and white

  • Thanks for your comment, locusmortis. I agree - the Titan reprint albums/books are fantastic.

They did a very nice b&w set of Neal Adams' Bat-Man. Though not oversized, they're a great addition to my library.

Thanks again for watching and leaving a comment.

  • burlearth is only partially right, its pronounced Slaw - in - ehh

Don't worry about it though, no one in Ireland bothers to pronounce it properly either :) Everyone just uses the english pronunciation.

Those Titan graphic albums from the 80's were great...oversized, black and white and HEAVY paper stock. I wish they still made them.

mcmahons art in this is great, more like gustav doré woodcuts than traditional comic art, top class stuff.
